Binzhou Lübang Upgrades Raw Material Formula: Industrial Solid Waste Repurposed for Eco-friendly Calcium Silicate Panels

Binzhou Lübang Panel Industry has completed the green upgrading of raw material formulas. The company extensively adopts fly ash from power plants and waste papermaking fiber residues to replace traditional quartz sand raw materials in the production of Asbestos-Free Calcium Silicate Boards, turning local industrial solid waste into high-quality construction panels and achieving dual benefits of low carbon emissions and cost reduction.

Conventional Calcium Silicate Boards rely heavily on high-purity silica sand, which entails high mining costs and ecological damage. After two years of formula adjustment, Lübang’s R&D team precisely proportioned fly ash, cement and plant fibers. The finished panels fully meet the national standard JC/T 564 in terms of structural strength, fire resistance rating and moisture-proof performance, with the maximum proportion of solid waste additives reaching 35%.

The complete production line is equipped with dust recovery and wastewater recycling systems. All manufacturing wastewater undergoes sedimentation and reuse, with zero external discharge and pollution. Calculations show that the enterprise can consume nearly 80,000 tons of fly ash from surrounding thermal power plants every year, curbing mineral exploitation. The raw material cost per panel drops by 12%. The products remain asbestos-free, non-radioactive and Class A fire-resistant, suitable for residential decoration as well as eco-friendly requirements of clean spaces such as hospitals and laboratories. This solid waste recycling technology has been listed as a recommended green building material technical solution by Binzhou Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau.
